"Stained Glass" Bunnies

I got the idea for this project from a friend.  Her small church group did this with their children but they made a cross.  I have a cross project planned for a play date next week but I really wanted to try this out. So, we made bunnies.

Here is what you will need:
Tissue paper cut into squares
clear contact paper
cotton balls
scissors
bunny stencil
glue

First, cut out your stencil, trace it on the contact paper, and cut it out.

Apply tape to the nonsticky side of the contact paper.  Stick it to your work surface. Remove white paper from contact paper.  The sticky side of the contact paper should now be exposed.

Now, randomly start placing the squares of tissue paper on the sticky side of the contact paper.

It is okay if they overlap and hang off of the contact paper.

Cut a piece of contact paper large enough to cover the bunny.  Remove the white paper and cover the bunny that has the tissue paper on it.  Cut out the bunny shape.

Don't forget to glue on your cotton tail!

We hung our bunnies on the window in the kitchen.  The kids love them!

  2. Awwww, this is so cute. Window art is my favorite, and now with this simple, quick idea I'm going to want to repeat this project every month of the year now! Thanks, I'm a new follower =]
